Wynn Quon and Joshua Mayo use improv as a vehicle for telling stories through their perspectives as first-generation Asian immigrants. Whether you're a seasoned performer or a curious beginner, come join us for some hilarious and heartfelt scenes, games and exercises that will challenge and inspire you to take risks, make bold choices, and discover new depths of imagination and authenticity.
*all Asians are the right kind of Asian for this jam!
WHAT TO EXPECT:
An improv jam is an informal, facilitated session where you can learn in a playful, non-competitive environment. We’ll go through prepared activities to help us tell stories through improv, do some scenes, and have fun.
This improv jam is open to all levels, whether you’ve done improv for a long time or are completely new. Either way, we’d love to meet you and hear your stories! You’re welcome to participate as little or as much as you’d like.
A NOTE ON PLAYING WITH OTHER PEOPLE:
Jams are meant to be a warm and welcoming environment where you can let loose and have a blast on stage. We’re sharing the space with people from all walks of life, and our goal is to uplift each other through comedy. Participants in the jam are expected to refrain from conduct, onstage or offstage, that is sexist, racist, homophobic, transphobic, ableist, or otherwise discriminatory.
HEALTH GUIDELINES:
Masking is encouraged. The room will have windows and an air filter. If you are feeling unwell, we ask that you stay at home.
CONTACT US:
If there are any questions we can answer about the jam, or if there are needs we can accommodate prior to the jam, send us a message and we’ll do our best to assist!
