OIJ Workshop F: Shut the f&*@ Up!!! - Silence is your Friend

Let’s be honest- improvisers LOVE to yap. But what if you’re just SO funny, you don’t need to use your words? In this quiet getaway of a workshop, you’ll find the beauty in a well placed pause, build delicious tension through stolen glances, and learn how to start a great scene without dialogue gumming up the works. Maggie and Glenys will teach you the art of slowing down, and becoming the most observant, patient, and present scene partner of all time. Join us as we extract the jokes that live between the lines!

Lead By: Maggie Harder and Glenys Marshall

With a combined 21 years of experience, standup comedian Maggie Harder (they/them) and musical comic Glenys Marshall (she/her) have been comedy fiends since they could get their hands on it. The duo are producers, writers, teachers, community organizers and horse enthusiasts. They’re best known for their monthly variety show Small Fish, which showcases art by and for marginalized folks in the nation’s capital and beyond. They have sold out consecutively, including a self-produced NYE bash at the Mayfair Theatre. Glenys has trained with the Second City in Toronto and graduated from Humber’s Comedy Writing and Performance program. Maggie trained with the Loose Moose Theatre in Calgary, and received their degree in Public Affairs and Policy Management (hilarious!). The two are high energy, low pressure, and professionally unserious.
