OIJ Workshop A: Mime, Movement and Physicality with Mike!

Take advantage of your physicality and unlimited imagination. Avoid becoming just another 'talking head' and learn to use your body and movements to create offers, opportunities and imagery in improv. Find, explore and challenge yourself using clown, mime, mask and other theatrical techniques.

Mike Kosowan has been performing professionally in Ottawa for over a decade. Working as a professional actor, improvist, magician, juggler, and clown. He currently works with a variety theatre and entertainment companies, teaches at the Ottawa School of Theatre, Improv Embassy and continues to preform with Ottawa improv troupes GRIMprov and DAMP. His passion for improvisation started with the Canadian improv games. He began improvising weekly at Yuk Yuk’s in 2007, for four years with Insensitivity Training. Co-founder of the University of Ottawa Improv club (2007) and a Co-founding member of the first Ottawa Improv Festival (2009). He has performed across Canada in multiple Fringe Festivals including Ottawa, Saskatoon, Winnipeg and Edmonton as well as the Magnetic North Festival, Montreal and Ottawa Improv Festivals.
